Ulverstone Rowing Club purchases new sweep oars purchased through their successful Community Sport and Recreation Grant

The Hodgman Liberal Government understands the benefits of having good recreation equipment to help build health and social interaction in regional communities.

“The Ulverstone Rowing Club is a perfect example of a volunteer-led community club that promotes a healthy lifestyle and a supportive club environment,’’ Liberal MHA for Braddon Roger Jaensch said.

“I’m delighted that the club was successful in gaining a Community Sport and Recreation grant of $1900 which has helped the club purchase new sweep oars which arrived this week.

“The Ulverstone Rowing Club raises money through various means to support its activities and this grant is a helping hand towards getting the new sweep oars.’’

“Congratulations to club president Paul Williams and his dedicated team of volunteers and hopefully these new sweep oars will be well used by future generations of rowers at Ulverstone,’’ Mr Jaensch said.
