Strathdevon Aged Care pool to re-open in coming weeks

Roger’s media release confirms the Tasmanian Health Service agrees to fund repairs to Latrobe’s Strathdevon hydrotherapy pool

The Hodgman Liberal Government is pleased that a solution has been found regarding the closure of the hydro-therapy pool at Latrobe’s Strathdevon Aged Care facility.

“We know that hydrotherapy can make a huge difference in the day-to-day lives of patients,’’ Braddon Liberal MHA Roger Jaensch said.

“I sought urgent advice from the Tasmanian Health Service and the Health Minister to help find a solution to give the Latrobe community certainty.

“I’m delighted that the Tasmanian Health Service has agreed to fund repairs to the hydrotherapy pool at the Strathdevon facility to ensure patients can resume their therapy.

“Parts essential to the repairs were ordered late last week. Once they arrive work will commence, and the pool is expected to be operational in coming weeks. Patients have been offered alternative treatments in the meantime.

“The repairs are expected to cost about $25,000.’’

Mr Jaensch thanked the Latrobe community in advance for their patience with the repairs scheduled to be made as soon as the new parts arrive.
