Emu Valley Rhododendron Gardens delighted with $50,000 election commitment

Roger excited to announce that a re-elected majority Hodgman Liberal Government will contribute $50,000 towards the installation of an automated irrigation system.

The award winning Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden is loved by locals, is a mecca for tourists and is recognised by garden lovers as one of the best of its kind in the world.

With more than 22,000 plants over 11 landscaped hectares, the garden and its spectacular seasonal displays are also building a reputation as a unique wedding and event venue.

Irrigating such a large area, on a steeply sloping site, is presenting major challenges for the volunteers who have built and maintained the gardens over decades.

After conversations earlier in the year, I am pleased to announce a re-elected majority Hodgman Liberal Government will contribute $50,000 to the installation of a modern, automated irrigation system for the Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden.

The garden is a jewel in the crown of the North West Coast and I’m proud to secure funding to help it continue to grow.
