The Tasmanian Liberal Government is investing in the future of our regional communities by providing funding through the Community Infrastructure Funding (CIF) program for councils and community groups to upgrade or construct important community infrastructure.

Today I was pleased to announce that the Rotary Club of Ulverstone was successful in its application for funding through the CIF.

The club will receive $50,000 to build a storage facility to securely store its assets.

Previously, Rotary Club assets and equipment was stored in members’ homes, making it difficult at times to locate and access.

With the grant approved, the Rotary Club is continuing with discussions with the Central Coast Council regarding acquiring land at the Ulverstone Showground and Sports Facility to build their storage facility.

It was great to see Major Jan Bonde and the council come out in support of the project.

The storage facility will ensure the Ulverstone Rotary Club can store equipment in one readily accessible location.

Overall the CIF is providing around $4 million to over 120 projects across the State, providing much needed and welcome funds to many small and important infrastructure projects.
